TX-POWER bug in r28428

Reported by: alexandr.kosuhin@… Owned by: developers
Priority: lowest Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: base system Version: Trunk
Keywords: tx-power Cc:

Description

Dear Sirs
In r28428 exist bug with tx-power option
in file /etc/config/wireless option txpower was setup 15:
config 'wifi-device' 'radio0'

...
option 'txpower' '15'
...

But after restart:
~# iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn Mode:Master Frequency:2.452 GHz Tx-Power=23 dBm
RTS thr=2346 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Power Management on

I manually setup:
~# iwconfig wlan0 txpower 15
and all look ok:
~# iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn Mode:Master Frequency:2.452 GHz Tx-Power=15 dBm
RTS thr=2346 B Fragment thr=2346 B
Power Management on

But after reboot device TX-power again = 23 dBm

  1. IRTS thr and Fragment thr options must be exist in /etc/config/wireless in section:

config 'wifi-device' 'radio0'
If this options add via luci - they add to section: config 'wifi-iface'
and system not recognized them:
~# iwconfig wlan0
wlan0 IEEE 802.11bgn Mode:Master Frequency:2.452 GHz Tx-Power=15 dBm
RTS thr off Fragment thr off
Power Management on
Please fix this bug in luci interface

  • Priority changed from highest to lowest

not luci related, sounds like a script issue to me

Same error here, /etc/config/wireless txpower setting is ignored. I use r28395, ath5k.

I'm sure that option 'noscan' '1' is ignored also in /etc/config/wireless
