mocp fails to build with newer ffmpeg [patch]

Reported by: bas@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: Cc:

Description

After ffmpeg update from 0.5.4 to 0.8.2 (/changeset/28063.html) the mocp package fails to build due to ffmpeg API has changed (namely, handling of metadata is carried out in a different way).

There is no updated tarball from the author of mocp (except for some 2.5.0-alpha4 version dated back in 2009) to address this issue. This "alpha" version, however, basically comments out the section which handles ffmpeg metadata (track, author, title, album) in case the version of ffmpeg API is > 53.

The proposed patch does the same. With this patch in place, mocp package builds against updated ffmpeg and the only issue is that the above mentioned metadata will not be read by mocp.

The moc-ffmpeg-update.patch should adjust MoC to use the new API. I pulled it from MoC's forum and have not tested myself. Please let us know how it works.

There is a typo in moc-ffmpeg-update.patch (s/titke/title).
Other than that, it works fine.

I've adjusted the patch with quilt and attached is the patch against feeds svn.
