#10048 closed defect (no_response)

kernel panic when plugging in USB 3g device into atheros 2315a (Fonera 2.0) device

Reported by: hanno.schupp@… Owned by: developers
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: kernel panic, atheros, USB, 3g, 2315 Cc:

Description

The device boots up normally and operates without issue otherwise. When plugging in a Huawei E230/E270 3g device into the USB port of the Fon 2.0, the 3g is properly identified, serial connection established, but then a kernel paging error occurs which leads to kernel panic reboot.

The issue is consistent and very repeatable, meaning it occurs every time without fail. The same 3g setup works fine on ar71xx with the same modem (tested on TP-Link MR3220 and MR3420).

I attach the associated log.

That dump still doesn't have the info that gets included with CONFIG_KERNEL_KALLSYMS. Did something go wrong with building or flashing?
