#10032 closed defect (fixed)

Broadcom-wl activity led support

Reported by: shinton@… Owned by: hauke
Priority: normal Milestone: Barrier Breaker 14.07
Component: packages Version: Trunk
Keywords: led wlan activity broadcom-wl brcm4716 brcm47xx Cc:

Description

As reported here: https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/6580#comment:284 the led activity light on brcm4716 devices (possibly brcm47xx and others too) does not work. It appears to be controlled by broadcom-wl as executing echo "1" >/proc/diag/led/wlan while wl.ko and wl_glue.ko are unloaded causes the led the light up but it turns off as soon as these modules are loaded.

Here is the led related code snippet from diag.c:

[RTN16] = {

.name = "ASUS RT-N16",
.buttons = {

{ .name = "reset", .gpio = 1 << 8 },
{ .name = "ses", .gpio = 1 << 5 },

},
.leds = {

{ .name = "power", .gpio = 1 << 1, .polarity = REVERSE },
{ .name = "wlan", .gpio = 1 << 7, .polarity = NORMAL },

},

},

If you have wifi led constantly off try following to get it working (reboot when done):
nvram set sb/1/leddc=0x5A000A
nvram set wl0gpio7=8
nvram commit
