Description

I have DLINK DIR-825 (B2). I recently swiched from backfire-RC5 to latest truk. Now I don't have access to internet when I connect my adsl router to WAN port on dir-825.
ADLS router IP adress: 192.168.1.1/24
Openwrt lan: ip: 192.168.0.1/24 gateway: 192.168.0.1 dns: 192.168.1.1
Openwrt wan: ip: 192.168.1.200/24 gateway 192.168.1.1 dns: 192.168.1.1

Now i can ping from my PC ip 192.168.1.1, I can even access it through www but I can't ping anything from internet eg ping www.google.com

I attached my configs.

PC settings: ip 192.168.0.2 gateway: 192.168.0.1 dns: 192.168.1.1

When I connect adsl router directly to PC and set pc network settings to 192.168.1.0/24 I can access internet.

Confirming on WNDR3700 (v2).

/etc/init.d/network start|restart helps.
Putting it in rc.local doesn't help.

Further details see new threads:

(this i didn't try)

In my case /etc/init.d/network start|restart desn't make any difference.
when I type "opkg update" I get:

Downloading http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/ar71xx/packages/Package s.gz.
wget: can't connect to remote host (78.24.191.177): No route to host
Collected errors:

why no route to host?

Also backfire-RC5 works for me. Only trunk is faulty.

The DNS server listed in those configs is 192.168.1.1. That is wrong. It should be 192.168.0.1.

Replying to Joe Roback <openwrt-devel@…>:

Nevermind, my bad, I didn't see your WAN config at first. Too early in the morning.

With trunk, if you telnet/ssh into the router, and type this:

$ swconfig dev rtl8366s show

Does swconfig segfault or does it work? My latest experience with trunk is a gcc/compiler bug actually causes swconfig to segfault, preventing the switch from being configured correctly, resulting in no internet.

It seems to work. I attached swconfig output.

Any ideas?

After several unsuccessful trunk builds, I tried one this morning, r28118, and everything worked fine here.

I'll try to build trunk again and I'll go back to you. I'm using r28057 so I don't think that something has changed...

BTW these tickets describe the same problem (both ar71xx hardware):

https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/10003[[BR]]
/ticket/9972.html

Those tickets don't describe the same problem! on those tickets network restart helps! or unplug/plug wan cable. In my case router does not have internet connection no matter what I do ( plug unplug wan, network restart - even when I use instead of wired wan wireless client bridget to wan port - i don't have internet connection in any of those cases!)

comment:14 Changed 6 years ago by Andrzej <mleczan2@…>

Tested today on build r28129 with the same result. No access to internet no matter if I connect wired cable to wan or configure wireless client bridged to wan interface. Pls help.. Without internet connection my router is only switch...

comment:15 Changed 6 years ago by Martin G. <kommerz@…>

Simple solution: it seems, something resides in RAM...
Just switch off and on and afterwards it boots and connects regularly...

comment:16 Changed 6 years ago by Andrzej <mleczan2@…>

Hmmm, I tried this also. My router was rebooted at least 10 times. Nothing ever helped.

Latest openwrt trunk is working fine :) Problem is somehow solved in newest version. Ticket can be closed :)
