Replying to KanjiMonster:

Disregard that, I can't read changelogs.

This is a buildsystem rebuild foobar - it doesn't pick up changes in files/ subdirectories, which caused the built kernel to not include the changes:

<@{Nico}> yeah, files where not overwritten :/
<@{Nico}> [openwrt@wrt1 ar71xx]$ ls -l build_dir/linux-ar71xx/linux-2.6.32.10/drivers/net/phy/ar8216.c target/linux/generic-2.6/files/drivers/net/phy/ar8216.c
<@{Nico}> -rw-rw-r-- 1 openwrt openwrt 14746 Mar 19 21:08 build_dir/linux-ar71xx/linux-2.6.32.10/drivers/net/phy/ar8216.c
<@{Nico}> -rw-rw-r-- 1 openwrt openwrt 18823 Apr 6 03:07 target/linux/generic-2.6/files/drivers/net/phy/ar8216.c

Therefore, the ar71xx kernel (and images) need to be rebuilt (at least those for ubiquiti and rb4xx).
